Are you looking for Quality, Home from Home childcare?

Childminders care for children from birth - 14 years and provide full wrap around care. They are passionate and dedicated about their work and provide an excellent service for the children and their families.

All childminders that care for children under the age of eight must be registered and inspected by OFSTED. Childminders normally work to the ratio of 6 under eight of which no more than 3 under five. However there is an exception to this ratio, when caring for siblings and providing continuity of care for existing families. Childminders no longer need to inform Ofsted, however they must ensure that they are meeting the needs of all the children in their care and follow Ofsted requirements for space per child.

OFSTED will carry out regular checks on the childminder and their home and DBS checks will be carried out on all persons living in their home over the age of sixteen.

Childminders are required to undertake a first aid training course and must go on to do further training and professional development. Most childminders will have acheived an NVQ3 or equivalent in Early Years Care and Education.

Childminders are self-employed and work from their own homes so can offer more flexibility in their working hours, to suit parents requirements. Childminders set their own charges but ensure that costs are affordable and manageable for all.
